This Mikasa Italian Countryside® Dinner

"This Mikasa Italian Countryside® Dinner Plate was a replacement to my ser. It arrived intact and securely wrapped. I'm happy to have my whole set complete again and will definitely come back to order additional pieces."

Know what you're going to get - it's not original

"Be advised if you're going to get these. If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say they lost or destroyed the original molds they used to make the first Italian Countryside, and then later found out there was a lot of demand for replacements. So they took some of the old plates and used them to press new molds, with the result that much of the fine look of the older plates was muddled and glossed over in the new. I have included pictures of the old and new dinner plates - you can clearly see how sharp and clear the filigree is on the older plates and how blurred and indistinct it is on the new ones I ordered from Mikasa. I'm not saying don't get them, but I'm saying what you're going to get is something you'd never want to serve to company. If you need to use them to make up for some broken ones to use within your family, then they're fine. But don't buy them if you think what you're getting matches the original ones. They're not even close."

Very disappointed in the current

"Very disappointed in the current dishes compared to the original Italian Countryside set that I bought over 20 years ago and continued to buy until this purchase. The current ones are slightly larger and heavier. The original ones are so pristine compared to the ones I just purchased. Will no longer purchase Italian Countryside. So disappointing!"

I first got these plates

"I first got these plates in 1997 as part of my wedding registry. Have been using them daily and over the years bought replacements. I did an order of 16 plates and these are far better quality than previous sets!"
