"Mikasa changed the design of Zena over the years. My first set of Zena was really nice... so nice the maid took it home with her piece by piece. After she was no longer with us I asked for a new set for Christmas and got it. Yes, it is different but still beautiful enough to use every day and when company comes. I love both styles and one has to look at them side by side to see they are indeed different. They are absolutely beautiful and they don't bend when you scoop ice cream."
Are these made for giants?
"I was hoping to like this set, but the pieces have a very strange scale / proportion. The teaspoon and knife are fairly normal size, and the salad fork would be a suitable dinner fork, but the dinner fork and spoon are large enough to look and feel silly, like you are eating with serving utensils. The forks are also much more blunt than they look in the photo. Overall I would be satisfied with the style, and the weight, balance and finish seem appropriate, but the scale is a deal breaker."
